Salespeople need skills too
Ive been at a home expo in Johor Bahru for the last 3 days.
During this time, Ive observed many things. But what I've observed are the skill sets that differentiate the merchants who have been able to procure sales and those who didn't.
These are what what the successful ones did:
1) dressed appropriately and pleasantly
2) hair is well combed
3) looks clean
4) comes out and invites customers to try out their products
5) understand that it is a numbers game
6) received proper training from their managers
The unsuccessful ones:
1) sit behind the tables
2) do not smile
3) are not proactive and do not stand up to speak to customers
4) constantly behind their phones.
5) do not put effort into their appearance
6) does not seem interested in speaking to visitors.
