Journal: Convo on Attachment Styles
Attachment styles again:
So last night I had a convo with Sid, another climber. (He didn't go to the water park).
We talked abt why some ppl are missing from my feed.. (for obvious reasons).
So I asked:
do you know what an anxious or avoidant is?
Do I have to explain what it is?
He said he knew what it meant. Which is a good thing, because trying to explain attachment styles to ppl who don't understand.. is like trying to pull teeth.
i was able to have a convo with him about attachment styles and I could see how the diff dynamics were playing out in front of me.
One can have an interesting convo if they have knowledge about attachment styles.
One of my mates asked about it, and I said,
I didnt go thru therapy. But, I used Chat GPT, + journaling really helps to put the words of my whole experience down.
And I explained that the attachment style is tied to our nervous system in responding to emotional stress, and our body's response is flight or fight when emotions get intense.
So I had a language to explain and understand the whole experience, so it didn't feel like I was going thru it alone. ❤️
Aside:
If you're wondering, I am trying to normalise convos on attachment styles, coz the more knowledge we have, the more empowered are we to deal with our past. ❤️
