The Importance of One's Heritage.

Can a person actually be separated from their family background?

I know of many people who have risen through the economic ladder, but that is not what I'm asking here. Enough korean dramas depict individuals who have done that.

How would one's family background affect the way they look at the world?

How would it affect the choices one makes?

If you came from a background of heritage, would you give it up to carve your own road?

Would you be willing to give up your portion of your heritage to someone not part of the family?

What compromises would attract you to continue the heritage that has been part of your family?

Would carving your own road be more important than continuing the heritage, if the latter promises financial security?
