China: Visiting Guangzhou (Day 1)

Today is the first time I've taken a trip to Guangzhou after a very long time.

The last time was circa 2012, so it's been more than 13 years now.

Tried Uncle Roger Fried Rice at Terminal 2, KLIA. Not bad, not bad.

I didn't make any preparations for this trip.
I brought my black jumper that I used in Melbourne in Sydney in September, as that is for Spring weather and not too thick for the weather in Guangzhou.

I didn't even change for China money, as my mother said it wasn't necessary 😅

So in the end, she had to pay using cash.. coz the sim card we bought wasn't working.

It took us 10 stops from the South Airport station + 10 more stops to Beijing Road station and then a taxi ride to finally reached the hotel where we were supposed to stay. 😅

It's a 3 star hotel, called the Fu Ho Hotel, located in the Yue Xiu district.

With the wifi, but slow connection at the hotel, I was able to contact customer service on Shopee and get them to reset the connection on my HK/China sim card. Which they fixed using the serial number of my sim card, and they reset the service.

Having settled it, I was hungry, so I walked down to the 7-11 located downstairs and got myself some cup noodles for supper.

Some snacks on the road tomorrow. Broiled Chinese pork jerky.

It is also my first time using Alipay. I had to link it to a fee free debit card so I don't get charged for every transaction that I make.
