Guangzhou: (Day 5) Baiyun International Airport

On our last morning in Guangzhou, we checked out of Fu Ho hotel.

It's a 3 star hotel, located towards Cang bian Road, which intersects with Zhong San 4 Road.

Facilities: not that much... There is a separate on site Chinese restaurant, and there is breakfast provided for all guests at the dining room in the hotel.

The check in manager will give you vouchers for the breakfast.
To access the floors, you'd need to tap the key pass on the key panel in the lift.

I returned the key pass to the check out counter as they will charge me 50 yuan for loss of card.

Heading to the airport:
To head to the airport, I had to order an e-hail car to the Baiyun International Airport.

To do that, you can click on the Didi app on the Alipay app. Choose your destination, and type of vehicle you want to use.

Our car reached the front of the hotel around 7-ish. It was an EV... my first ride in an EV.

The total trip cost about 80 yuan.

As you complete your ride, the app will ask you if you want to give tips to your driver, about 15 yuan. You can choose to accept or not.
     Selfie in the EV!

Check in at the airport:
The process to go through check in through Air Asia took a bit of time. It is recommended to come early to the airport.

First, there is the queue to check in for your luggage.

Secondly, there is another long queue to get your hand carry and bags scanned.

Then there is the last process, which is another long queue to get your passport checked and stamped.

By the time we arrived at boarding gate, it was already 9am.

All in, maybe an hour or more?

After check in through the immigration:
These are vending machines for prepay mobile sim cards for roaming services to countries like Europe, Singapore, America, South Korea, and some other countries.

Maccas . This meal costs about 70 yuan. (Coffee was upgraded at a cost of 15 yuan). You can do the math.

Our plane decided we could board in early... So half way through breakfast they made the announcement, and I had to hurry through the coffee...

See you another time, Guangzhou!
