Guangzhou: Cheap or nay?
After spending five 'days' in Guangzhou, I have mixed impressions of the city.
Things I found affordable:
1) Didi - ehailing service was 80 yuan to the airport from Fu Ho hotel. Price- normal. Cheap.
Yeap, ordered through the app.
2) Hair wash and blow- starts from 38-45 yuan at Cang Bian Road. Average.
3) clothing: cheap. Super cheap. It was cheaper to buy two shirts than to buy dinner for one pax.
Things I found expensive:
1) Dining out, normal stall or fastfood.
Like Maccas, KFC and Pizza Hut. Super expensive.
The only food I found cheap was the char siu bao street stalls on Zhong Shan 4 Road - 2 for 6 yuan.
Or portuguese tarts for 9.9 yuan.
2) even tea .. not sure what kind of fruit tea brew it was, but 1.20 yuan a gram ... 83 grams is 100 yuan..
Exxy.
There was this Singaporean influencer, Sherrgoh on Instagram who went on sharing about how cheap Guangzhou was, and she had Michelin dim sum five days straight at the dim sum place.
However, she is thin, lithe, and slim. And she is paying Singaporean dollars. Also, she stayed at the Marriot hotel at Tien He.
Seriously, how many of us can afford to stay there for five days in a row and dine out at Michelin dim sum resto five days in a row?
